Teaching Game Design
CELL - Game Design Club
Télécom SudParis's game design club CELL is all about exchanging knowledge and sharing our passion for game design, and using it to create all kinds of projects: video games, board games, game jams or escape games. As a member of this club and president during 2019-2020, I have organised a conference and several private courses on different fields of game design.

Conference - Introduction to Game Design
I reiterated the club's annual conference to introduce the basic notions of game design to new people : What is Game Design ? What is the design thinking process ? What does it mean to be Game Designer ?
This 45 minute-long conference was adapted from Toni Oriol and Raphaël Tran's (cofounders of CELL) conference and inspired by The art of Game Design (Jesse Schell) and Challenges for Game Designers (Brenda Romero & Ian Schreiber).

Private courses and activities
During the club's weekly sessions, council members organise courses focused on one aspect of game design or game creation. Here are some I made :
· How to make your first game - Managing scope, concept of minimum viable product, project management
· Introduction to Level Design - Giving tools to analyse level design in games
· How to conduct a brainstrom - Roles and steps in producing ideas
· What is a game engine ? - What they bring and presenting popular game engines
· Presentation of Unity
· The basics of puzzle design
· Tips and tricks for playtesting
Practicing Game Design
What better way to learn than by practicing ?
Every year, we try to set up projects that excite us and allow us to apply our knowledge in game design.
During my mandate, we focused around creating 2 escape games, and participated in several game jams.
